NÈGÈS MAWON is a Haitian feminist organization founded in 2015 that fights mainly against the consequences of the patriarchal organization of society on women. We aim for liberation from all forms of violence and oppression suffered by young Haitian girls and women and we place our feminist struggle in the ideal of justice and freedom carried by the revolution of 1804. To achieve this political horizon, we work every day to improve the conditions of women and girls in Haiti. We are involved in the promotion, defense and strengthening of women’s rights on the social, cultural, economic and political levels. This fight is part of a perspective of liberation against any system that hinders the full and complete enjoyment of women, everywhere in the world, of their humanity, their rights and their bodies.

Alaso Feminist Journal and ALASO Podcast

We envision Alaso not only as a space for feminist voices to be heard but also as a catalyst for new voices to emerge, fostering fresh commitments to the movement. Alaso is a platform for feminist expression and dialogue, one that nurtures critical thought, debate, and analysis, making feminist perspectives more accessible across diverse formats and modes of dissemination.
